Good cosmetic dentistry starts with a diagnosis, not a treatment. "I want whiter teeth" and "I want straighter teeth" have very different answers, and picking the wrong one is how people end up with veneers on teeth that only needed whitening.
Cosmetic work placed over untreated decay or active gum disease fails, and it fails visibly at the gumline. Any plan here starts with an exam and, where needed, periodontal treatment first. It is not a delay tactic — a veneer margin sitting against inflamed, receding gum will look wrong within two years no matter how well it was made.
The order is usually: treat disease, straighten, whiten, then restore. Straightening first often reduces how much restorative work you need. Whitening before veneers or crowns means the new work can be matched to your final shade, rather than locking you into today's. Doing it the other way round is expensive to undo.
The most natural-looking results are rarely the whitest or the most uniform. Real teeth vary in shade along their length, are not all the same size, and are not perfectly symmetrical. A smile designed with those characteristics looks like yours; one designed without them looks like dental work. We will show you a mock-up before anything irreversible happens, and you should ask for one anywhere you go.

With an exam and a conversation about what specifically bothers you. Colour, alignment, shape and gum display have different answers, and the cheapest, least invasive option that solves your actual complaint is usually the right starting point. A plan built the other way round tends to over-treat.
Generally not, because it treats appearance rather than disease. There are exceptions where a treatment is also restorative, such as a crown on a broken tooth. We verify your benefits and show you what falls where before you decide.
Whitening lasts one to three years with top-ups. Bonding lasts around five to seven years. Porcelain veneers and crowns last 10 to 15 years or longer. All of them last longer with good gum health and a night guard if you grind.
They permanently change them. Enamel is removed to make room, and it does not grow back, so those teeth will always need covering. That is a reason to exhaust the conservative options first, not a reason to avoid veneers when they are genuinely the right treatment.
Yes, and you should insist on it anywhere you go. Digital imaging and a physical mock-up on your own teeth let you judge shape and proportion before any enamel is touched, and give you something concrete to react to.
Anywhere from one visit for bonding to a year or more when orthodontics is part of the plan. Most multi-step cases run two to six months. The sequence is planned at the start so each stage sets up the next.
